On June 14, 2017, Spike Lee shared an ambiguous post on Instagram, captioned “Jordan Jumpoff Fort Greene Quickstrike. 6/16/17.” We now know that the famed film director was teasing a new “Mars Blackmon” edition of the Air Jordan 1 Retro High. The sneaker released in limited numbers at Lee’s 40 Acres & A Mule headquarters in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. The design features the classic “Bred” color-blocking, but in a black and midnight navy colorway. A white midsole and Midnight Navy outsole complete the familiar look. A “Mars Blackmon” logo appears on the heel, while the tongue sports a “1/3” tag.
