A roundup of our favorite sneakers sporting the versatile look.

What’s old always seems to be what’s new in sneakers. The culture’s obsession with all things vintage has turned old school favorites like the adidas Samba, Nike Dunk, and New Balance 2002R into household names in the present day. In the same breadth, the culture’s obsession with retro style has also had a profound impact on the rise of all the great “Cement” inspired Air Jordans in 2023.
Looking to get creative while also honoring its legacy, Jordan Brand has brought back the shade of grey originally used on the Air Jordan 3’s elephant print as an accent color on new releases such as the Air Jordan 2 “Cement Grey” and the Women’s Air Jordan 1 Mid “Cement Grey.” The new-age “Cement” colorway theme is among the most versatile in sneakers right now, which is significant for many reasons.
With spring in session and summer looming, everyone could use a shoe or two—or three—that can be worn for all of the warm weather activities you plan on getting into over the next few months. As you’ll see momentarily, a “Cement” colorway gets you from the office to happy hour and the beach to the streets, all without missing a beat.
Endlessly versatile, the Air Jordan 2 “Cement Grey” is also a colorway that looks as if it could have been released back when the Jordan 2 debuted in 1987. Which is to say, if you’re also in the market for a shoe with a vintage appearance, the Jordan 2 “Cement Grey” checks off a few boxes.
Air Jordan 1 High OG “White Cement”
Most “Cement” colorways are inspired by the Air Jordan 3 “Cement” look. Only one goes all the way to feature the Jordan 3’s iconic elephant print, and that’s the Air Jordan 1 High OG “White Cement.” Looking to make a statement this summer? This is your shoe.
Women’s Air Jordan 1 Mid “Cement Grey”
You could definitely wear the Women’s Air Jordan 1 Mid “Cement Grey” in the spring and summer months. But the shoe can also excel in the fall and winter thanks to its somewhat stealthy black-and-grey color scheme. Cop this one if you’re already planning on what you’re going to be wearing in cooler weather.
Air Jordan 3 “White Cement Reimagined”
Would a blog post about “Cement” colorways even be a blog post without the Air Jordan 3 “White Cement Reimagined?” We think not. This is the OG to all “Cement” colorways. Enough said.
Air Jordan 1 Mid “Cement/True Blue”
The Air Jordan 1 Mid “Cement/True Blue” features elements of not only the Air Jordan 3’s “True Blue,” but the model’s “White Cement” style, too, exemplifying those kinds of trending colorways we were talking about in the introduction.
Air Jordan 11 Low “White Cement”
A quintessential summer shoe, the Air Jordan 11 Low was released in a “White Cement” colorway in April, and it’s pretty much one of the most wearable versions of the vintage basketball shoe on the market.
Air Jordan 1 Zoom Comfort 2 “Black/Fire Red/Cement Grey”
Closing out our list of “Cement” inspired colorways is a relatively new model and colorway from Jordan Brand: the Air Jordan 1 Zoom Comfort 2 “Black/Fire Red/Cement Grey.” In a way, the shoe is kind of like an updated take on the original Jordan 1’s “Bred” theme, but with some comforts like Zoom Air cushioning and a thick-padded ankle collar.
