There are a few summer style essentials that everyone needs in their closet. If you want to look put together even when the temperature is nearing triple digits, then a crisp white or grey tee is a must. As are some comfortable shorts that hit just above the knee. Next, and most importantly to us, is a white sneaker.
Endlessly wearable, a sneaker in a white colorway can be worn with every warm weather outfit imaginable during any circumstance imaginable, too.
The best white sneakers are versatile and unfussy, which is why you’re more likely to reach for them on a daily basis than any other pair in your collection. Many will agree the crown jewel of white shoes is the Nike Air Force 1 “White on White.” But as you’ll see momentarily, there are options from Nike, Jordan, and New Balance that are just as compelling as the OG triple-white colorway.
These are the best white sneakers for spring and summer. There are no rules or wardrobe these crisp kicks won’t fit into, so long as you wear them with everything and keep ‘em clean.
At this point, what hasn’t been said about the adidas Samba? We’ve been singing the retro indoor soccer shoe’s praises for months and months now and, quite frankly, don’t really think we need to sell you on why the model’s “White/Black” colorway is an essential for summer. It just is.
Air Jordan 3 “White Cement Reimagined”
It doesn’t get more iconic than the Air Jordan 3 “White Cement Reimagined.” Based on the Jordan 3’s original “White Cement” colorway, the shoe that Michael Jordan famously debuted over NBA All-Star Weekend in 1988, the “White Cement Reimagined” features details inspired by the OG release which, if you’ve been keeping up with trends in sneakers this year, is a very good thing. Of course, you can wear these all year long, but they look even better in that summer sunshine.
It’s been quite a return for the New Balance 550. A once forgotten performance basketball shoe, the 550 was given a second chance as a lifestyle option when Aimé Leon Dore came calling for it in 2020. Since then, the model has been one of the most popular New Balance sneakers in the world. It’s easy to see why on this crispy “White/Grey” colorway.
The Air Jordan 4 “White Oreo” is a two-for-one type of colorway. Not only does it have elements of the Jordan 4’s legendary “White/Cement” style baked into its design, but it also sprinkles in some details of the “Oreo” colorway in its appearance for good measure.
Women’s Nike Dunk Low “White Panda”
You can expect to see your fair share of Nike Dunk “Panda” colorways again this summer. In addition to that shoe, you can also expect to see a few of the colorway’s new alternate versions, including the Women’s Nike Dunk Low “White Panda” which is a flip on the OG’s color block and an even better option for summer.
Air Jordan 11 Low “White Cement”
Although MJ wore the Air Jordan 11 Low with the Chicago Bulls during the 1996 NBA Playoffs, the model has always been more of a lifestyle shoe thanks to all the great, casual-inspired colorways it was released in during the early 2000s. The new Air Jordan 11 Low “White Cement” picks up where old school Jordan 11 Lows like the “Cherry” and so many others left off in terms of bringing versatility to the classic low-top shoe.
Women’s Air Jordan 2 Low “UNC to Chicago”
The Air Jordan 2 is back in a big way thanks to colorways like this fresh and clean “UNC to Chicago.” The theme celebrating Michael Jordan’s successful basketball careers with the University of North Carolina and the Chicago Bulls doubles as the perfect low-top Air Jordan for summertime.
Women’s Nike Zoom Vomero 5 “Photon Dust”
The Women’s Nike Zoom Vomero 5 is one of several retro shoes from the early 2010s that have been trending in 2023. So if you’re looking for a shoe to wear this summer that’s popular, comfortable, and effortlessly wearable in almost any circumstance, then look no further than to the Vomero 5, particularly in this “Photon Dust” colorway.
Union x Air Jordan 1 KO Low “White Canvas”
The Air Jordan 1 KO was an original Air Jordan model from the 1980s. Amazingly, it was never offered as a low-top in spite of the fact that the two shoes it was sandwiched between, the Air Jordan 1 and the Air Jordan 2, were. That all changed when Union collaborated with Jordan Brand on the Jordan 1 KO Low “White Canvas” earlier this year.
New Balance 610 “Nimbus Cloud”
Versatile. Easy to wear. Stylish. Just like every other white-based sneaker we’ve featured so far, the New Balance 610 “Nimbus Cloud” has all the requisite traits of a great summer shoe.
