A detailed look at and the history behind the 2023 return of this iconic Jordan 13 colorway.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of Michael Jordan’s final game with the Chicago Bulls. While it may feel like Jordan’s last stand with the team was several lifetimes ago, Jordan Brand is doing everything it can to keep the memory of “His Airness’s” time with the Bulls fresh in our minds. That’s because later this month, Jordan Brand will bring back the shoe Jordan wore with the Bulls for his final playoff run with the team: the Air Jordan 13 “Playoffs.”
The Jordan 13 “Playoffs” was also the last shoe that Jordan wore as a Bull in an NBA All-Star Game. He debuted the “Playoffs” in Madison Square Garden during the ‘98 NBA All-Star Game before wearing the shoe again throughout much of the ‘98 Playoffs with the Bulls. In other words, the Jordan 13 “Playoffs” is a significant sneaker from the Air Jordan collection.
The modern Air Jordan 13 “Playoffs” is a true one-to-one remaster of the original version from back in the day. Like the “OG” pair, the “new” version of the colorway features a black dot-embroidered leather construction with an eye-catching, panther eye-inspired holographic emblem on the collar.
The return of the Jordan 13 “Playoffs” coincides with the re-release of another classic, original Air Jordan colorway from way back when: the Air Jordan 3 “White Cement,” which is slated to drop in March this year. With it being so early in the year, there is a very good chance that Jordan Brand will be bringing back more legendary sneakers from the brand’s archives this year.
Why are we so sure? It is 2023, after all, the year of the Jumpman.
