Early Look at the Air Jordan 6 "Toro Bravo"

A full preview of the “Raging Bull” Jordan 6 in red suede.

What’s old always seems to be new in sneaker culture.

With shoes like the Nike Dunk, New Balance 550, and other classics from yesteryear trending at an all-time high right now, yet another vintage design is set to be brought back from the catacombs of the proverbial vault this summer. But just a little bit differently than how we remember it. That’s because this June, Jordan Brand will be re-issuing the popular “Toro Bravo” look that debuted on the Air Jordan 5 in 2009, but on the Air Jordan 6 for the first time ever.

Like the OG Jordan 5, which was re-released in 2021 as the “Raging Bull,” the new Jordan 6 “Toro Bravo” will douse the retro basketball shoe in fiery red suede. Fans from the NikeTalk and ISS era of sneaker culture will undoubtedly appreciate this new spin on the Jordan 6, and it isn’t hard to imagine that there will be plenty of new sneaker collectors up on the release, too. After all, when does any classic Air Jordan model ever look bad in red and black?

By giving the shoe a mostly all-red appearance, Jordan Brand not only honors its own legacy, which as we know is always a good thing, but Michael Jordan’s time with the Chicago Bulls, which is also always a good thing.

In releasing the Jordan 6 “Toro Bravo,” there is every reason to believe that Jordan Brand may be gearing up for even more retro releases from the 2000s. We’ve already received word that the Air Jordan 4 “Thunder” will be coming back at some point this year. Could it only be a matter of time before we get a retro Air Jordan 17 “College Blue?” Or what about the Air Jordan 16 “Ginger?” Both were worn by Jordan, albeit very briefly, with the Washington Wizards in the early 2000s.

Time will tell, but don’t be surprised if more Air Jordans from the NikeTalk and ISS message board days receive their just due this year. Until then, here’s a full look at the “Toro Bravo” Jordan 6 before it officially drops in June.
