The Neighborhood x Converse Jack Purcell Ox is the collaborative effort between the Japanese-based streetwear brand and Converse. The collection from 2019, which also features a Chuck 70 High, is an ode to motorcycle culture, a theme Neighborhood designer Shinsuke Tazikawa often employs throughout his mainline seasonal collections. The hard-wearing look of the venerable Jack Purcell Ox features a shadowy all-black suede base with tonal black laces and a black tongue. Luxe black leather is applied on the heel with a Kanji character translates to “resistance.” While the upper remains relatively subdued to play on its biker roots, the black rubber midsole features repeating white lettering “NBHCDNSJP.” Lastly, a Converse and Jack Purcell white license plate on the heel and pink outsole complete the look of the low-top design. The Neighborhood x Converse Jack Purcell Ox was released on August 24th, 2019.
