Pristine Leather Graces The OVO Edition Air Jordan 12 Retro

The house that Drake and his manager Oliver El-Khatib built, known as the ubiquitous October's Very Own moniker, amassed a ton of brand equity on the road to becoming a cultural force. So much so that the collective has forged relationships with top companies, the most familiar of which is Jordan Brand.

The relationship has produced a handful of exclusive OVO edition Air Jordan sneakers. A favorite just happens to be the OVO x Air Jordan 12. Aptly released on October 1, the sneaker features a premium white leather upper, with sting ray textured toe panels and gold accents wrapping up its pristine look.

The Environmentally Friendly Parley x adidas Ultra Boost Uncaged LTD

Some shoes tell a story, others have a purpose. The Parley x adidas Ultra Boost Uncaged LTD, released on November 15, 2016, fits the bill of the latter.

Parley for the Oceans is an ocean pollution awareness organization, which forged a relationship with adidas through a previous collaboration that delivered an environmentally friendly Ultra Boost and Pure Boost X. This Ultra Boost Uncaged continued the trend, the only difference is that it's the first Parley release to be mass-produced with 7,000 pairs currently in existence (Highsnobiety reports that adidas aims to produce one million pairs by the end of 2017).

Because the sneaker is created with 95 percent ocean plastic and five percent of a recycled polyester, a target number of 11 million bottles are to be recycled by Parley in coastal regions and repurposed as performance sportswear.

The shoe doesn't lose its DNA in the changes made to its construction. If fact, the white upper has a knit textile feel that's akin to the Primeknit, and maintain a sock-like fit on the ankle collar. The white BOOST sole and green accents on the heel round out the sneaker. Parley retrieved the materials used to create the laces, heel cap and sock liner during coastal operations in the Maldives.

The Red Velvet Air Jordan 1 "Heiress," No Baking Soda Required

Luxury seems to be a central theme in a myriad of 2016 Air Jordan releases. This includes the Air Jordan 1 "Heiress," a girl-exclusive version of the iconic model.

The first of the "Heiress" edition sneakers arrived early 2016, and to date has graced a trio of Air Jordan 1s, an Air Jordan 10, Air Jordan 12, and an upcoming Air Jordan 11.

The upcoming AJ1 "Heiress" arrives in December, and features an upper that's nearly all Red Velvet suede in a burgundy colorway. Gold accents on the Swoosh, Wings logo, and Jumpman logo break up the monotony, along with a white midsole and burgundy outsole.

Air Jordan 11 "Space Jam" 2009 vs. 2016

Every holiday season, the sneaker world is turned on its ear by a customary Air Jordan 11 release; this year the coveted "Space Jam" colorway returns December 10, but with noticeable differences than the previous two retros.

Like the first retro in 2000, the 2009 release features a dynamic combination of a mesh upper and patent leather mudguard, all in black. A royal blue Jumpman on the heel and Jordan script on the tongue account for most of the branding. MJ's patented "23" lasered into the heel makes the cypher complete with a help of a white midsole and a clear outsole.

The 2016 release is modeled after the sample version, which Michael Jordan premiered during the NBA Playoff Semifinals in 1995. The most notable change is the "45" heel branding, an ode to the number he wore after returning to professional play from a brief retirement. Like recent iterations of the AJ 11, the cut on the patent leather mudguard is different and the outsole is an icy translucent blue, as opposed to the clear outsole seen on earlier versions. The stitching is also white.

The Menacing Nike Air Foamposite Pro "Dr. Doom" Returns

In an era when sneaker trends are shifting towards sleeker, more nimble designs, certain classic silhouettes still have a precedence. The same can be said for the Nike Air Foamposite Pro "Dr. Doom," a shoe that initially released in the Fantastic Four Pack in 2006.

The original pack featured a Nike Air Max 90 (Mr. Fantastic), Nike Air Force 1 Low (Invisible Woman), Nike Dunk High (The Thing), along with a sneaker representation of the one and only Victor Von Doom.

The 2016 retro stays true to form, as the Black coated Foamposite Pro shell has a menacing look. White appears on the Swoosh, sole and lining. Anthracite appears on the midsole, thus rounding out the shoe.

Underground Rap Giant MF DOOM's Iconi Nike Dunk High SB

To call Daniel Dumile elusive is an understatement. And somehow, the UK born, New York City-raised MC of many monikers – the most familiar being MF DOOM – managed to get on Nike's radar in the mid-2000s. DOOM would be immortalized on the aptly coined Nike Dunk SB High "MF DOOM."

Released in 2007, after an epic eight year run of album releases that included solo triumphs (Operation: Doomsday (1999), Mm.. Food (2004)), lauded instrumental projects (Special Blends 1+2 (2004)), and a collaborative masterpiece (Madvillainy with producer Madlib (2004)), the kicks are as intricately woven together as DOOM's eccentric rhyme pattern and flow. Designed by Frenel Morris, the upper features a combination of black nubuck, grey leather, grey nubuck and grey ostrich. 3M Piping lines the upper while a metallic silver tongue featuring DOOM's patented Doctor Doom-inspired mask appears on the tab. Red laces, DOOM branding on the ankle of the shoe, and clear soles encompassing artwork from the rhymeslinger's faux-comic storyline show that Morris and Nike took extra care with these.

Air Jordan 9 "Kobe Bryant"

There's Mr. Miyagi and there's Daniel-San. Without the former, the latter cannot exist, but both parties desperately need each other to coexist.

It's the same case for Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant, two nominees for the greatest NBA players ever to play the game. Here, Jordan, a six-time NBA champion, is the architect whom Bryant studied tactfully and patented his game after (with five rings of his own to show for it).

Having recently retired with hopes of starting anew in venture capitalism, The Black Mamba gets commemorated by Jordan Brand with the mass release of a sneaker that was initially a PE sample that appeared back in 2010. The Air Jordan 9 "Kobe Bryant" features a white leather upper with a purple patent leather mudguard. Subtle yellow accents on the tongue, heel and Jumpman on the sole maintain the sneaker's Los Angeles Lakers-centric colorway.

The Icy White Nike Special Field Air Force 1 "ComplexCon"

In the midst of a certified frenzy for the Nike Special Field Air Force 1, the Swoosh brand released a limited all-white colorway to commemorate the first annual ComplexCon.

The dynamic sneaker – a combination of the classic Air Force 1 and the SFB boot that Nike created for the special forces – dons two removable paracord straps that hang high on the ankle, canvas on the heel, and premium tumbled leather on the toe box, toe guard, mid panel, and Swoosh. The guesseted tongue adds extra protection, while the white make-up gives the shoe a pristine look.
