With the release of the adidas Yeezy 500 "Salt," Kanye West will have you feeling salty, but in a good way. The Yeezy 500 "Salt" marks the fourth release of the shoe. Like the "Blush," "Utility Black," and "Super Moon Yellow" iterations, the "Salt" colorway sticks with a tonal look and is constructed with a combination of premium suede, leather, and mesh.
The "Salt" nickname comes from the official name of the light grey color that covers performance-meets-fashion design. The unique silhouette by West features a luxe upper inspired by high-fashion sneaker trends, with a minimalist look highlighted by wavy lines and oval shapes. The shoe does away with any adidas or Yeezy branding. The sole unit is mirrors the aesthetic of the upper and is based off the original Feet You Wear design from Kobe Bryant's obscure signature model, the adidas KB 8 III from 1999. Thanks to Kanye, the often-forgotten Kobe sneaker is experiencing a bit of a rebirth almost 20 years later as a distinctive design element on one of the world's hottest Yeezys.
