In 1985, rookie sensation Michael Jordan had a lot to discuss during a visit to Late Night With David Letterman. At the time, the high flyer was considered an emerging talent with limitless potential. Concurrently, he was at the center of controversy as the NBA banned his first signature shoe, the Air Jordan 1, because the black and red upper didn't feature enough white.
Fast forward 20+ years, Jordan Brand recalls the night by combining the influences of the legendary shoe and MJ's bold choice of tracksuit to create the Air Jordan 1 Retro "David Letterman". The kicks eye-catching due to the Light Crimson-colored upper, which is accentuation by Midnight Navy on the Swoosh, outsole, ankle, and inner lining. A white midsole brings some calm to the colorful storm to round out the design.
