The 2016 Doernbecher Freestyle Collection includes a Nike Stefan Janoski Max designed by 12-year-old Corwin Carr, diagnosed in utero with prune belly and VATER syndrome – a rare condition that can affect the spine, heart, digestive system, kidneys and more.
Designed with Carr's love for aviation in mind, the sneaker's Deep Royal upper features a jumbo 747 jet that covers the toe, a map of the world that lines the interior, and a winged logo on the heel. The branding on Carr's logo on the tongue also dons pilot's wings, this time surrounded by 40 feathers, which represents the amount of surgeries Carr he's had since birth.
