The Nike Air Zoom Turf Jet 97 “Barry Sanders” celebrates the Hall of Fame running back’s twenty year anniversary of his retirement from the NFL in 1998. Sanders wore the Air Zoom Turf Jet 97 during his playing days with the Detroit Lions and was an endorser—along with Brett Favre—of the shoe in the late-90s. Here, Sanders receives his very own colorway that includes Lions branding on the left shoe’s midfoot velcro strap and his jersey number “20” on the right adjustable strap. Subtle blue Swoosh branding can be found on the forefoot with a larger white embroidered Swoosh covering the lateral panel. The Air Zoom Turf Jet 97 is outfitted with a rubberized outsole for traction. Nike limited production to just 2,053 pairs in total as a nod to the amount of rushing yards Sanders accumulated during the ‘97 NFL season. The Nike Air Zoom Turf Jet 97 “Barry Sanders” was released on November 28, 2019.
