When LeBron James first took the court for the start of the 2017-18 NBA season, his signature Nike sneakers made a powerful statement. The LeBron 15s that he wore that night had the word "Equality" on the heel. The Nike LeBron 15 "Equality" were part of an effort to bring people together regardless of their race, religion, sex, or creed. Nike released a black colorway and this white version in February 2018. The sneakers were extremely limited, with only 200 pairs of each colorway raffled off. Proceeds from the raffle benefited the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture.
