The Air Jordan 1 High Sample “Design Studio” is an unreleased sample version of Michael Jordan’s first signature shoe given to members of Jordan Brand’s design studio team. One of the rarest Jordan 1 models in existence, the “Design Studio” colorway was created in limited quantities in 2018 and was never given an official retail release. Stylistically, the design borrows cues from the original Jordan 1 “Black Toe” colorway as it features a white perforated leather toe surrounded by a contrasting black leather forefoot. From there, the design switches to a more abstract look by featuring an embroidered “MMXVIII” design on the lateral side of the purple leather heel. A black leather Swoosh can be found on either side and a red-based tie-dye pattern appears on the collar with black “Wings” branding. A minimalist “LA” tongue patch is stitched onto the left shoe’s tongue and a true-to-original “Nike Air” logo graces the tongue of the right shoe. Finishing off the look is a white midsole and purple outsole.
