The Nike Dunk is a shoe that’s credited with popularizing college basketball-inspired colorways in the 1980s and creating excitement in the sneaker community when it was converted into a skate shoe in the 2000s. But it doesn’t get the recognition it deserves for its resiliency.
The Dunk has endured multiple waves in popularity in its decades-long history, and through it all has come out victorious in the end.
In 2022, the retro basketball silhouette is as revered as the Nike Air Force 1 and Air Max 1. Those shoes, like the Dunk, will always be in style no matter what happens to be the flavor of the month in sneakers.
And that isn’t likely to change anytime soon based on the positive response to recent releases like Supreme’s “By Any Means Necessary” or Union’s “Passport Pack” collaborations.
What we’re really trying to say is that you should absolutely invest in the Nike Dunk if you’re looking for a shoe with some bonafide credibility that will always be fresh.
