Early Look at the Air Jordan 4 “Red Cement”

Preview the new-yet-familiar look for the iconic Jordan 4.

As creative as Air Jordan colorways and collaborations have been of late, some, with all due respect, would never have worked for Michael Jordan during his playing days with the Chicago Bulls. That’s not a knock on Jordan Brand, but rather a sign of the direction of sneaker trends in 2023.

While it’s hard to imagine Jordan dropping a double-nickel on the Knicks in any one of Travis Scott’s Air Jordan 1s, it isn’t far-fetched to think of Jordan putting in work in a shoe like the new Air Jordan 4 “Red Cement.” With its Bulls-esque white, black, and red color combination and retro-inspired cement patterning, the “Red Cement,” had it been released in 1989 and not 2023, would have been a regular part of MJ’s rotation. The “Red Cement” is a throwback to the early days of the Air Jordan line, and a continuation of the legendary Air Jordan “Cement” theme.

The first shoe to elaborate on the iconic “Cement” color story came back in 2020 when Jordan Brand released the Air Jordan 3 “Red Cement” in celebration of the NBA All-Star Game’s return to Chicago. Dressed in a predominantly red-based design, the 2020 “Red Cement” gave a Bulls-friendly update to the Jordan 3’s original “White Cement” and “Black Cement” colorways. On the Jordan 4 “Red Cement,” the colorway looks to the Jordan 4’s “White Cement” style by featuring its speckled patterning on its red “wings,” heel counter, and midsole.

As exciting as new collaborations like Union and Bephie’s Beauty Supply’s Air Jordan 1 High OG “Woven - Sail” colorway are, every once in a while a shoe like the Jordan 4 “Red Cement” will be released to remind everyone just how ahead of its time the Air Jordan collection was all those decades ago.

A Jordan sneaker in a Bulls-friendly colorway will never go out of style. Get a detailed look at the new “Red Cement” Air Jordan 4 here, and we know you’ll agree.
