Kanye West has worn some of the most “grail” worthy sneakers in the world since releasing his breakthrough album “College Dropout” in 2004. He’s also had the opportunity to design shoes with BAPE and Louis Vuitton, as well as with industry heavyweights Nike and adidas.

And if you had to point to one shoe in particular that has garnered him the most praise for his creativity, that would be the adidas Yeezy Boost 350.

The 350 is undoubtedly Kanye West’s most popular, produced, and worn sneaker to date. It debuted in 2015, and was then introduced in several alternate models thereafter, most notably the Yeezy Boost 350 V2, or “Version 2,” which makes up the bulk of its releases. Other iterations include the 350 V2 Mono, 350 V2 MX, and most recently, 350 V2 CMPCT.

What’s the story behind the 350’s success? Many would agree that the shoe’s unrivaled comfort, sleek design, and plethora of easy-to-wear colorways makes it pretty much accessible to everyone. All variations of the 350 have a Boost-cushioned midsole paired with a lightweight, woven Primeknit upper, and have been released in colors ranging from extremely bold to very muted. In other words, it’s truly the “people’s Yeezy.”

Because the Yeezy Boost 350 is one of the most popular sneakers on the planet, we want to make sure you have this handy shopping guide to all of its important details. Below you’ll find everything from sizing and care information to the model’s most memorable colorways, and more.

What are the Different adidas Yeezy Boost 350 Models?

We briefly mentioned how the Yeezy Boost 350 comes in a few different models in the introduction, and we’ll take a look at them in more detail here. The original 350 was released in June 2015 in the “Turtle Dove” colorway. Compared to later versions, the first 350 has a slightly more low-slung profile.

In September 2016, adidas debuted the follow-up Yeezy Boost 350 V2, which has become the silhouette’s most recognizable iteration. Early 350 V2s featured a contrasting side panel with “SPLY-350” branding. In recent years, the 350 V2 has been released without the stripe and branding, and sometimes without a pull tab on the heel.

adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 “Mono Clay”

The Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Mono was released in 2021 with a translucent monofilament mesh upper. It’s the only iteration of the 350 to date without a Primeknit upper.

Finally, the Yeezy Boost 350 V2 CMPCT was released in late 2021, featuring a sleeker, more low-profile silhouette.

How to Clean Yeezy 350s

How to properly care for the Yeezy Boost 350 is a somewhat divisive topic. Everyone seems to have an opinion on the right way to clean the shoe. Some swear by stuffing the shoe inside of a laundry bag and throwing in the washing machine on a cold, gentle cycle. Others prefer to spot clean with a rag and dish detergent. Whether you choose to do either, both, or something different, just know that since the 350 is made from a woven Primeknit or mesh material, not leather, some stains will not go away. Such is life with the 350, but don’t let it dissuade you from wearing the shoe, and wearing it hard.

Yeezy 350 Sizing: Do Yeezy 350s Run Small?

The Yeezy Boost 350 family shares many similarities, least of which are sizing. Are Yeezys true to size? Actually, no two 350 models fit the same, so let’s just get that out of the way. The original Yeezy Boost 350 fits true to size, so take your normal sneaker size when purchasing that shoe.

A browse around the internet will lead you to believe that the Yeezy Boost 350 V2 fits small, so you should size up half a size from your normal sneaker size. And that’s true. You should also size up a half size on the 350 V2 Mono and 350 V2 MX.

As for the 350 V2 CMPCT, with the way the shoe is constructed with upgraded padding and knitting, it’s best advised to take your normal, standard size.

Yeezy Boost 350 Colorways: Something For Everyone

Early Yeezys were released in selective, mostly earth tone colors, like the “Grey/Gum” adidas Yeezy Boost 750 and famed adidas Yeezy Boost 350 “Turtle Dove.” After the 350 V2, adidas and ‘Ye let loose and released Yeezys—particularly the 350 and its variations—in almost every color imaginable.

It’s impossible to name every 350 colorway, but some worth noting for the Yeezy Boost 350 V2 are the “Beluga,” “Oreo,” and “Bred.” For the 350 V2 Mono, the whole collection is a go. The 350 V2 MX “Oat” is that silhouette’s most popular release, and the 350 V2 CMPCT “Slate Blue” and “Slate Red” are favorites, as well.

Other 350s you should keep in mind: the “Glow in the Dark” and “Static” 350 V2, the “Mono Ice” 350 V2 Mono, and “Moon Rock,” and “Oxford Tan” 350.
