Everyone always wants “more.” The sneaker community is no exception. Since the 1970s, shoe companies have created proprietary cushioning technology to meet the demands of people who want the most comfortable shoes possible. And while each decade over the past 50 years has seen its share of advancements, the most important breakthrough came when one brand, adidas, finally hacked the cozy code: sandals.
To be clear, lest I be misunderstood, I’m not saying adidas invented sandals. I’m not even saying sandals are more comfortable than shoes. But ever since Kanye West dropped his adidas Yeezy Slide, slip-on footwear, including clogs, have been everywhere. And in terms of what’s more comfortable, a sandal or a shoe, studies show that 99.9% of people reach for a sandal for leisure activities like lazing around a body of water or strolling to the mailbox to retrieve mail. So there’s that.

Why both, you ask? Because you cannot discuss the virtues of one cozy Ye-endorsed piece of footwear without the other. Below you’ll find everything you need to know about both models, including essential colorways, and care and sizing information.

It’s What’s Inside That Counts: What’s the Yeezy Foam Runner & Slide Made Of?
The adidas Yeezy Foam Runner and Yeezy Slide look very similar, but are actually made from different materials. In the Foam Runner’s case, it's built from a blend of harvested algae and lightweight EVA foam. The Yeezy Slide is constructed from EVA foam. (EVA is ethylene-vinyl acetate, a soft synthetic foam material used for cushioning many sneakers.)
How Do Yeezy Slides and Foam Runners Fit?
If you’re looking to try the Yeezy Foam Runner or Yeezy Slide for the first time, you want to know how sizing works and how the sandal fits before purchasing a pair, right? From everyone we’ve talked to who owns a pair of Yeezy Slides, we’ve gathered that it’s best you take one size up from your usual sneaker size. These do not fit true to size, as many Yeezys do. They run small. If you have a more narrow fit and want to achieve a snug fit, go a half size up.
As for the Yeezy Foam Runner, things are equally tricky. Some people have had success opting for their usual size, while others have had to size up one size for a more comfortable fit. Our advice? Head to Stadium Goods if you’re in the New York City or Chicago area and try a pair on.

How to Clean Yeezy Sides & Foam Runners
Cleaning the Yeezy Foam Runner and Yeezy Slide is a little more simple than sizing. In terms of taking care of both models, it’s simple. A quick wipe down with a cloth, some water, and a drop of dish detergent or sneaker cleaner should remove any smudges that have accumulated from wear.

Yeezy Slide & Foam Runner Colorways
Both the Yeezy Foam Runner and Yeezy Slide, like pretty much every adidas Yeezy shoe, have been released in a variety of earth tone and versatile colorways. On one end of the spectrum, you have versions like the earthy “Desert Sand” Slide and “Ochre” Foam Runner, while on the brighter side, there’s the “Enflame Orange” Slide and “Vermillion” Foam Runner. Some Foam Runners even feature a “MX” (“mix”) iteration with swirls of different colors, like the “Cream.” Rest assured, no matter what flavor you’re feeling, you’ll have a piece of footwear you’ll want to wear for more than just strenuous activities like lounging around the pool and running to the mailbox.
